Voices of Earth - Animism Literacy with Janet Marley

In this course we will engage with our birthright to communicate with the Voices of Earth. Our human nervous systems developed in a context of deep sensory communication with our more-than-human kin, in coherence and embeddedness with the wild natural world we were part of.

Although as modern humans we now have many barriers separating us from this connected context, we all have the capacity to develop attunement to the language of Gaia through our 5 senses as well as our felt senses and our innate capacities for extended cognition through interpersonal neurobiology, interspecies neurobiology, and morphic field consciousness.

In these four sessions, we will embark on a step-by-step journey of sensing and sense-making in order to re-awaken our feeling of interbeing within the Community of Life, and to incorporate the wisdom and needs of our more-than-human kin into our personal and collective decision making processes so we can act in ways that meaningfully embody the care, respect and reciprocity we yearn for in our own actions and in our species-level relationship with our home - our Earth and all our relations. 

Bio - Janet Marley, Ph.D Fellow
Janet Marley blends ecopsychology, indigenous governance wisdom, and facilitation to bridge inner human transformation with Earth Law and regenerative systems change.

She has developed her own spiral framework termed "Earth Law Psychology" to connect the Voices of Earth with Law and Governance systems. During her M.A. studies in Ecopsychology at Naropa University, she focused on Indigenous Governance research. She holds a B.A. in Religious Studies from Brown University and is currently a Ph.D. Fellow in the University of Vermont's Leadership for the Ecozoic initiative, researching Nature Governance processes in ecocentric and bioregional community design.
